Program Switcher is a convenient timesaving control panel that allows you to switch between the applications running on your System 7 or greater Macintosh via a simple two-key keystroke. It was inspired by the same function found in ΓÇ£Windows,ΓÇ¥ but has been improved and transformed into a unique and fully configurable control panel that makes switching applications on the Macintosh as simple as pressing a couple of keys.
Installation
To install Program Switcher, drag its icon into your active system folder and restart your computer.
 
Basic Operation
Program Switcher allows you to switch between all running applications by pressing a simple two-key keystroke. The two keys consist of an ΓÇ£activatorΓÇ¥ key and a ΓÇ£switchingΓÇ¥ key. By default, the option key on your Macintosh keyboard has been assigned as the activator key and the tab key, as the switching key. To perform a switch, hold down the activator key, and without letting go, tap the switching key. Program SwitcherΓÇÖs display window will appear. There are five variations of this window, which you may set (see the Customizing chapter). The basic variation, called the ΓÇ£OriginalΓÇ¥ display method, looks like this:
 
This window will display the last running application you used before switching to the application you currently are using. It will stay up as long as you are holding down the activator key. To see the other applications that are currently running on your Macintosh, tap the switching key (while still holding down the activator key). You may select an application by tapping on the switching key until the application you wish to switch to is displayed in Program SwitcherΓÇÖs display window. When it is displayed, let go of the activator key. The display window will disappear, and you will be in the application you selected through Program Switcher.
